Welcome Babies!!!!! July 31st., 2010

To tell you the truth, it took us all by surprise.... Everything happened so fast that it was a bit hard to assimilate it... but, Yes, the quintuplets were born! The delivery occurred yesterday between 2: 23 and 2: 25 pm by c-section and the babies were sent to intensive care.
Yesterday morning I was with my sisters Grecia and Viviana, my cousin Denisse, my mom and my aunt Loli. I was feeling contractions but I was not worry because I thought that I was dehydrated (as it happened the previous weekend). I wanted to take a shower first and then call the nurse, and while I was giving it a thought, I told my family to go home to rest and to bring me watermelon upon their return! Only Viviana stayed with me "just in case".

After they left, I decided to call the nurse first and then to take a shower. The nurse that was monitoring my contractions called the doctors on duty because i was having contractions every minute but I just felt the strong ones. When the doctor came and checked me, (20 minutes after my mom left to go home) she told me I had 4 to 5 inches of dilation then a second doctor came and said that I was actually 7 centimeters dilated.  Immediately, my sister called my husband which was helping a friend two and a half hours far from the hospital and also called my sister Grecia to come back with my mom.
My nurse took me to the surgery room to prepared me (I felt crucified with all the needles and the I.V.) and my mom arrived just in time!
The surgery took like 30 to 40 minutes, but the babies were born within two minutes. There was a large group of nurses, pediatricians and doctors taking care of us and I am very grateful for the attention but above all thank God that everything went well.
